Play starts tomorrow
Good news, winter play starts tomorrow at the slightly later time of 10 am, and under special conditions because the ground is still very delicate after so much rain. If they get damaged, we may have to rest them again.
Playing on lawns 3, 4, and 5 only
Three lawns only are available for play, as we pay the Wellington City Council for maintenance of three lawns throughout winter, and rotate their use. Check the whiteboard inside the front door for which lawns are to be used on the day.
However, conditions are soggy around the hoop 4 area on lawns 3 and 4. We might ask you to play past those two hoops, for now. Check the whiteboard inside the clubhouse door for any special conditions applying on the day.
You always do, but please wear flat-soled shoes.
Shorter games
Games will be 30 minutes' duration so everyone gets a turn.
No jump shots, no sitting in the hoop: learn the Heretaunga Rules
Just a reminder that we're playing Heretaunga Rules this winter. There will be coaching support. If you haven't done so already, download and read the attached information sheet. There is a small supply of printed copies in the clubhouse.
Advantage Croquet
We will trial this during winter. It will be fun to try something new.
Enjoy the game! (Thanks, John Stevens, for the excellent sign-off.)
