Stefan Horrer new CEO of Croquet NZ

Croquet NZ has appointed Stefan Horrer as the new Chief Executive, replacing Jake Inwood who led the organisation for the past five years, and is now departing to take up the role of General Manager of Hockey Manawatu.

Stefan graduated with a Master of Business Economics from the Vienna University of Economics. He worked in the audit and advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), in Vienna, Austria, and then Sydney, Australia. He then joined Macquarie Group, the largest investment bank in Australia and one of the world’s leading managers of infrastructure investments. At Macquarie he worked in various roles over the years, including as Financial Controller of Macquarie Airports and later as Head of Financial Control for Macquarie Capital and Principal Investments.

Moving to New Zealand in 2016 he discovered the delights of croquet and soon became the Treasurer of the Masterton Croquet Club, Secretary of the Wairarapa Croquet Association, and Chairman of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of Croquet NZ.

He is ranked 20th in Association Croquet in New Zealand with a handicap of zero and is an AC Referee.  In Golf Croquet he has a handicap of three.

Many croquet players may already have met Stefan at tournaments and other croquet functions and many more will meet him in the future.
